We’re hiring!

Great Lakes Therapy Center is a thriving and a rapidly growing private practice located in downtown Chicago. We are seeking to hire clinicians who would like to be trained to deliver full protocol DBT or have previous experience with DBT. The position is full time (25 clinical hours per week, only a fraction of your clinical load will be stage 1 DBT clients), requires a commitment to complete a 16-week educational curriculum (if no prior DBT experience/training) and an agreement to participate in a minimum of 1 year of weekly supervision with a DBT expert.

Ideal candidates will have a willingness to learn a complex treatment, a desire to work with high-risk populations and the openness to treat adolescents, adults and families. Work ethic will be valued over work experience.

GLTC maintains a work environment where therapists are supported and work-life balance is prioritized. Our team is very close and very supportive...no one wants a burned out therapist! We collaborate on a daily basis, share clients, co-lead groups together and empower one another to build dynamic and fulfilling careers.

Because we primarily provide DBT, we operate as a team in all facets of our work. This position is ideal for someone whose prefered working style is collaborative.

What we can offer

An opportunity to learn DBT in a supportive and professional environment. While you will be required to commit to an arduous training schedule, you will be compensated for your time, and you will be encouraged to take your new skill sets in whatever direction you desire.

Consistent encouragement to practice self-care and protect your own personal well-being. We believe the best way to be effective therapists is by leading lives that are joyful and fulfilling.

Additionally, we are one of a few organizations within the Chicago area that accepts insurance and provides full protocol DBT. We also offer sliding scale/pro bono spots in every one of our skills groups. This means you will have the opportunity to provide DBT to populations that are often unable to access it due to cost.

This position includes:

  • Competitive compensation

  • BCBS PPO Health Insurance

  • Retirement benefits

  • Yearly CEU stipend

  • Billing and administrative support

  • Access to a fully furnished and beautiful office space (once we are out of Covid Land)
