Our Addiction Treatment Program
Given the complex nature of recovery and the research on effective treatment, this program involves additional support for the client, a DBT Skills Group adapted to focus on the skills needed to break the cycle of addiction and a strong encouragement to include family, partners or other supportive people in the treatment plan. Additionally, we encourage clients to be involved in other community based recovery programs such as AA, Smart Recovery, etc while also participating in our program.

Our Approach to Recovery
Our approach is one of dialectical abstinence. With an emphasis on compassion and connection, dialectical abstinence synthesizes two approaches for dealing with addictive behaviors: abstinence and harm reduction. Great Lakes Therapy Center’s Addiction Treatment will teach how to practice mindfulness skills, recognize and manage substance use urges, cope and prevent relapses, regulate emotions and tolerate distress, and build meaningful relationships.
