Lauren is a DBT-Linehan Board of Certification Certified Clinician and Clinical Director at Great Lakes Therapy Center. She is intensively trained in DBT, and has 7 years’ experience providing comprehensive, adherent DBT. She is also trained in DBT-Prolonged Exposure therapy, one of the leading treatments for PTSD in high-risk client populations.
Lauren works with adolescents, young adults, and adults, specializing in mood regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, PTSD, and management of high-risk, self-harming, and suicidal behaviors. She specializes in treating Borderline Personality Disorder and working with survivors of sexual trauma and domestic violence. Lauren also has a background in medical social work, and has worked at both the University of Michigan and Johns Hopkins supporting individuals living with Cystic Fibrosis and other chronic illnesses.
Lauren takes a genuine, validating, and candid approach with her clients, integrating mindfulness, acceptance, and change strategies within a collaborative and respectful environment to help clients reach their goals. She is passionate about meeting clients “where they are at” to explore the reasons behind ineffective behavioral patterns and work to change them.
