Jimmy earned a B.S. in Neuroscience before working as an EMT and as an academic and test-prep tutor. After reflecting on his values and life experiences, Jimmy pursued a career in mental health and earned a Master of Social Work degree.
He has internship experience in case management and in group therapy for adolescents in PHP and IOP settings. He is currently under the supervision of Victoria Kessinger, LCPC.
Jimmy's approach centers around providing a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can embrace acceptance while acquiring effective skills for change. Jimmy’s aim is to provide clients with practical skills they can use to achieve their own goals in life. He firmly believes in the idea of client and therapist as equals in a collaborative relationship. He loves getting to know his clients and learning about their passions. Jimmy deeply values mindfulness, and he emphasizes kindness, compassion, and authenticity in his work and in life. He is passionate about DBT, dialectical thinking, human behavior, science, and our connection to the people and world around us.
In his free time, you can find Jimmy engrossed in a captivating book, overplaying his current favorite musical artist, or embarking on long walks with his sweet and sassy dog Zelda.
