Ashley Bond

MSW, DBT Staff Therapist
(She/Her/Hers)

Ashley is a recent graduate of the University of Chicago’s Master of Social Work program. She has been trained in Contextual Third Wave Behavioral Therapies including DBT, ACT, and Motivational Interviewing. She has previous social work experience in community mental health and higher education counseling settings.

At GLTC, Ashley is participating in our DBT Fellowship program, led by Linehan Board of Certfication, Certified Providers. She will be completing a year of intensive DBT Training.

She is under the supervision of Jessica Dahldorf, LCPC. Ashley is passionate about working with individuals with trauma histories and self-harm behaviors. Ashley’s stance in therapy is rooted in the relationship and she believes that growth and healing can be achieved through empathy and connection. Ashley also strongly believes in the Harm Reduction principle of “meeting clients where they are but not leaving them there.”

Ashley was drawn to DBT because of its emphasis on expanding individuals’ emotional and behavioral responses through acceptance and change strategies. She believes that everyone has the power to enhance their lives through commitment and collaboration.

Outside of the therapy room, Ashley enjoys spending time in nature, watching documentaries (and guilty-pleasure reality TV), and visiting with family and friends. In addition, Ashley loves animals and considers pets one of the greatest support systems, so if you have a pet, Ashley will want to see photos!
